Synopsis
The Pevensie siblings are back to help a prince denied his rightful throne as he gathers an army in a desperate attempt to rid his land of a false king. But in the end, it is a battle of honor between two men alone that will decide the fate of an entire world.

My thoughts
Thanks to Arjen for doing another buddyread with me. A while ago, before my summer break we read the first book and that was so much fun! We plan to read the whole series, and I'm so glad to have received the whole Narnia box-set from my mom for my birthday, yay! The books are beautiful with colourful illustrations. It's fun to read more about Narnia, since there were made 3 movies and I've seen them all, but there are more books!
Reading the books in publication order.

Pros
  • Fast read: There is so much happening in only 240 pages. The book is fast paced and there is always something going on. It's not a weird thing to me, that there are movies made that are 2 hours and 30 minutes long, only from such a (relatively) short book. It makes it easy to read and it would be an easy task to finish the book in one sitting on a rainy Saturday with a good cup of tea.
  • Children's book: It's so much fun to read a Children's book once in a while. It's lighthearted and obviously reads different than a YA or Adult book. I love to have some variation in the books I read and a Children's book is a welcome excursion from what I usually read.
  • Language: It's fun to read a bit more of the "older" English language. Since English is not my native language, I try to keep up by reading English books and watch English shows and movies. It's great to dive into an older English book and the way it's written. The way the children and characters talk is something new for me and it feels good to learn more, English wise.
Cons
  • Background: In my previous review I said that I would've loved a bit more on Narnia's history. That, I got from this book and I was happy to learn more. But now, in this book, I would've liked to learn more about the children's background and their life outside of Narnia right now, or a little while after Narnia. I feel like I didn't get enough depth from these 4 important characters.
Overall
If you want to read something light-hearted and want a little trip outside the YA and Adult-realm, Narnia is a good pick to read. It's easy to read and you can finish the books fast. The best in this book is the way it's written, the language, it gives the book an extra layer for me. I can't wait to read the next book. These books just make me very happy.

Memorable quotes from this book
"That's the worst of girls," said Edmund to Peter and the Dwarf. "They never can carry a map in their heads."
"That's because our heads have something inside them" said Lucy."

"Things never happen the same way twice."

Thanks for reading!
I'd love to talk books, so please let me know what you think about this book/review.
