Synopsis
Some people love Christmas for religious reasons, others prefer it for the food, drink and parties, but for some other people, it’s just another time of year to get up to mischief. This anthology is filled with tales of not-so-happy Christmases, tales that they don’t want to tell you about in the movies or songs. It’s time to break out your new Christmas slippers, rip open a box of chocolates and pour yourself a drink. Lock your doors and get comfy. You’re in for one helluva ride. Merry Christmas from all of us!

I decided to review these books together, since it's the first one and the second one. I was comparing the books while reading, so it seemed logic to me to review them together. I'm not going to review all the short stories separate in these books, I'll just talk about the books in general.

About the first book
It was easy to rush through this book, because it's not so long. The stories were easy to read as well and I enjoyed most of them. I loved celebrating the Christmas spirit with some good, gory horror stories. The horror in this book is of all different kinds; gory horror, creepy horror, WTF-horror, and I liked the fact that it's something different every story.
I was also very fond of the creativity that the authors show in the stories they write. It's always a lot of fun to get my hands on a book by Kevin J. Kennedy.
Something that I would've liked to see differently, was the fact that at some point in the book, there are a lot of evil Santa stories in a row. I would've loved to see the stories mixed up a bit more.
I had a blast reading this book, 4 stars!

About the second book
This book is much longer, and that means longer stories, more stories, different stories. What I liked is that there was even MORE creativity, there was not one story that was the same as a story in the first book. There was much more variety and there were less Evil Santa stories, which surprised me.
Again; I liked celebrating the Christmas spirit in a lovely horror-kind of way. If you're a fan of horror books, you should definitely save this one up for Christmas, it's what I did too. I believe that it's much more fun to read these books during Christmas time.
What I do have to mention is that some of the stories didn't feel all that Christmassy and some were really far fetched. I even DNF-ed 2 of the stories as well. I was also wondering sometimes; are these really SHOT stories? Some were too long for my taste.
But, hey, still a great book to read, 4 stars!

If you're a horror-fan and like something quick, different, creepy and gory, you should pick up this book!

Thanks for reading my first review of the year!
I'd love to talk books, so let me know what you think about these books/reviews!
