Synopsis
Framed for a murder she didn't commit...
As one of HM Prison Holloway's most high-profile new inmates, Helen Grace has a target on her back and nowhere to hide. She has made a long list of enemies over the course of her career--some are incarcerated within these very walls. When one of Helen's fellow prisoners is found mutilated and murdered in her own locked cell, it's clear that the killer is someone on the inside.

But time is running out for Helen as she races to expose the person who framed her, and the body count in the prison starts to climb. Helen will need to draw on all her investigative skills and instincts to catch the serial killer behind these murders and discover the truth--unless the killer finds her first.

My thoughts
It has been way too long since I've read a book from this series. I just saw it has been almost 2 years. I did not feel like I missed a lot, I have remembered all this time what the previous book was about. This series is one of my favorite and the fact that I know almost everything after 2 years is a big compliment to the author.

Pros
  • You think you know: This is so well done by Mr. Arlidge. I was CONVINCED that I knew exactly who the killer was in this book. I had 2 options and I was sure that one of them would be it... Boy, was I wrong. I love it how authors can sometimes prove you wrong. This was very well done.
  • Easy to read: The first day that I read this book, I was easily reading 200 pages. I just picked up the book and lost track of time. When I looked up I was on page 200 already. This book is easy to read, just like the others in this series.
  • Thrilling: Wow! The book builds slowly towards some very thrilling final chapters. It really was exciting and I remember reading this book well into the night because I just had to finish it.
  • Loved the setting: I love how the setting in this book is different from all the others in the series. The book takes place in a prison and it was a strong setting; the way everything evolved around all the routines that are part of one's life if they are in prison.
Cons
Can't think of any. Finished this stunning book within 2 days.

Overall
If you like thrillers/mystery/crime books, you will definitely like this series. I'm glad that I have 2 more books to read and 2 novellas. I do hope more is to come, but I will also read any other book that is written by M.J. Arlidge.
