Game of Thrones Book Tag

One of the BEST SHOWS ever is, of course, Game of Thrones. I've read the first two books, which were awesome and have watched the entire show 6 times already. Obviously, I'm planning to watch the show again soon.
To celebrate all the awesome news about the spin-offs, I'll be doing the Game of Thrones Book Tag today!

Yay!

House Lannister: "Hear me roar!"
Name a book that you originally loved, but upon a re-read realized that it wasn't so great after all.

I have never re-read a book, and thought it wasn't great. I only re-read books that I absolutely loved and usually I just love them even more after re-reading them. I do remember that I finished the Harry Potter series in 2018 and I was kinda bummed about book 5. I ended up giving it 4 stars; I gave all the other books 5 stars. So that's the book I'll choose for House Lannister.

House Stark: "Winter is coming."
Name your most anticipated book release for 2021.

I was SO excited for this book, and I'm saying was, because I'm a bit thrown off by the cover. I know, I know, never judge a book, and so on...
But I've bought the first three and this one just doesn't match AT ALL?!
I know I'll be buying this one soon, because I just can't wait to dive back into the world and characters. And I'm pretty excited for SJM's announcement about the TV Show adaptation for ACOTAR! A Court of Silver Flames is definitely my most anticipated book release for 2021.

House Targaryen: "Fire and blood."
Name a book that you felt completely slayed with fantastic characters, plot and pacing.

I don't want to bore my regular readers with choosing ACOMAF again, because that was, to be honest, the first book I thought about. I decided to look at last years reads and I think that Verity definitely fits House Targaryen. The characters, plot, pacing; It was an AWESOME book and I highly recommend any mystery/thriller reader to pick it up!

House Baratheon: "Ours is the fury."
Name a book that ended with a cliffhanger that genuinely pissed you off.

This is a whole SERIES that ends with a cliffhanger and it's the biggest, baddest one ever. I remember literally throwing this book through the room, and just having a Karin Slaughter book hangover for a year. I had the chance to ask her about the ending face to face while I met her during an interview in Deventer. It turns out loads of her fans felt the way I did. But I loved how she answered my question and then I could finally put it behind me, LOL. (well not for the full 100%).

House Martell: "Unbowed, unbent, unbroken."
Name a book, or book series, that's been on your TBR since the dawn of time.

I have the first book on my shelves, I just never picked it up. I'm currently reading a couple of thriller series and I'd like to finish those first. This series has 8 books, so I can't just casually fit it in my TBR schedule. I will read the series one day! I'm curious and excited about it.

House Bolton: "Our blades are sharp."
Name the most graphic or disturbing book that you've ever read.

I've actually seen other bookbloggers doing this tag and choosing a book by Pierre Lemaitre for House Bolton as well. He's known to write very dark books . Recently I've read Blood Wedding and wrote a review on it. I remember it being very dark and so depressing that it took away a bit of the fun. So yes, this is a disturbing book in terms of the darkness and negative vibe in the main characters' life.
