Synopsis
Divorced dad Birley Haynes is too busy raising his children and running his family’s music academy to start a relationship. Then Harmony Holdich, his high school sweetheart, returns home to Willow Springs, Vermont for Christmas and falls into his bed. She brings light and fun back into his life, but he can’t brush aside the threatening incidents around his workplace.

Harmony hadn’t expected a complication like Birley, especially so soon after the death of her unfaithful husband. With her life a mess, she plans to move across the country and start over. All she can offer him is a fling, but her heart yearns for more.
When the threats rise, how will Birley keep his children safe and convince Harmony to give love another chance?.

My thoughts
I'm getting into the groove of reading books that fit the season or theme of the year. I recently read a book that had some Christmas vibes into it, so when the author of this book contacted me, I knew I had to read it in November/December so the book would fit my mood. I quite enjoyed the book, as you can see; I read it within 6 days. I do feel that there were some parts for improvement, but I had some pro's for this book as well!

Pros
  • Feel good vibes: I can't read a Christmas book that is sad or has awful characters. This book totally fit my mood with the feelgood story and the likable characters. Even the kids were so sweet. As a teacher, I always love to read about well behaving children that are so sweet, likeable and cute! This book has all the characters you need, even that one person that you won't like.
  • Christmas feelz: Yes! This was exactly what I needed during this time of year. This book  totally fits the Christmas genre, just like you'd expect from the cover. I felt the winter, the holiday and the festivities throughout the story. I would've loved even MORE! Like the main characters actually celebrating Christmas with a huge dinner and the kids, that's a little thing that I would've loved to read about too.

Cons
  • Quick: The book is pretty short in pages, but the story goes so fast. Especially the characters move really fast with decisions they make. I'm not a person my self that is so quick with big decisions. I would've loved for the book to be longer and for the story and characters to be maybe a bit more slowed down.
  • Depth: I would've loved to get to know the kids and Harmony even better. What are their hobbies, things they love, friends? A lot of the conversations in this book are between Birley and Harmony. I would've loved that extra layer where they talk about their relationships with others (friends, family) as well.
Overall
A lovely romantic story with the necessary amount of Christmas feelz! It's a short book that you could easily read within one setting. I just loved the feel-good story and likeable characters. The sweet kids, winter vibes and Christmas festivities were definitely what I needed this time of year!

Thanks for reading!
