My thoughts

This book wasn't the worst one in the series. I kinda liked Mia at some point, she is developing as a character, which I like. The story in this book wasn't all about her and the steamy sex she has as well. Next to that, she is doing something good for society, so it was pretty okay.

Pros

• Mia: At some point in this book I could relate to Mia. I understood the choices she made and she felt more like a real person.
• Think Pink: The fact that there is breastcancer awareness in this book is something I could appreciate. I like the fact that the book wasn't all about the sex, this one. It was more about the story, doing good things and about Mia as a person.
• Solid Story: The story wasn't about having sex all month and earning a lot of money with it. It wasn't about how Mia is having 5 orgasms a day and receiving new clothes and going to great parties. This story was more about the people around you, about growing as a person and helping out.

Cons

• Mia: So Mia get's better this book, but I'm still not that fond of her. The fact that she can't go without an orgasm for 2 weeks and is spying on people who have sex to get off herself, is really not something that was necessary in this book.

Overall

This book was a little better than last one. Mia is developing as a character and I hope the books are getting better. It's a quick read, for about a 100 pages and I feel like these books shouldn't be any longer. It's just a nice light read for in between books.

My thoughts

So when Fifty Shades was totally hyped, I bought the three books and started reading. The first was okay, liked the second more, and then I started reading the third book (this one). I couldn't get through. I tried twice, but did not finish. A month ago I decided with a girl from the bookclub, to read the book together.

And look at me now! 4 apples! This is the favorite in the series so far, and I'll tell you why.

Pros

• Christian & Ana: I LOVE Ana. She is a fierce woman who know's what she wants and isn't afraid to say so. I LOVE Christian. He is so tender, smart and loving. But I LOVE them even more when they are together. I love their conversations. Ana being stubborn and Christian trying to cope with it. This is the third book, so these two know each other for a while now, that's what makes it so nice to read.
• Tension: This book has a real nice plotline. The sex is still there, but it's not about all that. There is real tension and danger and this made me read everything pretty quickly. The second part of the book is the best.
• Inner talking: What I adore so much about these books is Ana's inner speaking. Her "inner goddess" and the conversations she has with herself, are so funny! It's something pretty unique, not something you see everyday and I really enjoyed that part. I know it's something that's also in the first and second book and it's strong that it's still here in the third book!

Cons

• Sex overload: Okay, so it's not Fifty Shades when there is no sex in it, I totally understand.. Every time they have sex Ana has like 8 orgasms, just NOPE. I did enjoy the fact that the focus is not as much on the sex scenes in this book. It feels like the writer set the tone for that aspect in the first and second book. I know Ana gets spanking when she rolls her eyes, but sometimes I really rolled my eyes during the hot steamy sex they had, AGAIN.
• DNF once: So like I said, I tried to read this book before but I just couldn't.. Just be aware, if you liked the first and second book, wait a while before you pick up the third book. And also; fight yourself through the first 30%, those are pretty slow to my opinion. I can't really explain right now why I DNF this book before..

Overall

I actually really enjoyed this book, I did NOT expect that. I'm actually kinda sad now.. That it's "over" (I know there is the Grey-point of view book). I kinda have a book-hangover right now? I can't believe it!

I did give this book 4 apples, mainly because I DNF the book before, TWICE. So there is something in this book that wasn't okay for me before. I did really enjoy this book this time, its fast paced, full of tension and love and romance. Yay!

My thoughts

I don't really know why I still read these books. There is a little part in me that wants some answers to what is going to happen between Mia and Wes. Some part of me feels awful to spend money on these books...

Pros

• Wes: Here he is again, my one and only favorite character from this series. I like the fact he is so committed to Mia and the only reason I would keep reading, is to know what happens with him.
• Different: This book was different from January and February where most of the pages are filled with hot steamy sex scenes. There is more feeling to this book.

Cons

• Chicago?! So this book is set in Chicago. MY ONE GREAT LOVE. And NOTHING whatsoever reminded me of being in Chicago. Only St. Patricks-day was great festive to think back to, but dayum.. Where is the setting in this book? Navy pier? The bean? Sears Tower? The Museums? Wrigley Field?
• Felt rushed: It felt like Mia was in Chicago for maybe 3 days and the book was finished. I would love to read more about the struggles, feelings and read more conversations between Mia, Hector and Tony.

Overall

Okay, guys. So I'm really struggling here. I'm not that person that doesn't finish series, you get me. But there are SO MANY good books that I still want to read.. It feels a bit like wasted time and money, since I'm not really enjoying it. But I also wanna know what happens with Wes and Mia.. You get me?

My thoughts

The first book in this series felt a little unrealistic to me. I really hoped this book would take that feeling away. But yeah.. You don't always get what you want.

Pros

• Quick light read: This book is a quick one. It doesn't have much pages and you rush through them really fast. The story is written as a fast paced story, so that is nice.
• Wes: I really felt like Wes was a keeper in the first book. It's nice that he checks up on Mia and that she has not forgotten him. Makes the first book a little more believable. Next to that; I'm fond of Wes. He's a cool, sweet, goodlooking guy, so I liked to hear from him again!
• More emotions from Mia: Mia felt like a robot in the first book, if you don't consider the fact that she fell in love with Wes. In this book she is vulnerable, she is worried about her sister, her father and she shares memories. I liked the fact that she shows a bit more of herself.

Cons

• Unrealistic: It still feels unrealistic to me. A girl who is in big trouble, who gets hired as an escort by her aunt and gets to work for only sweet goodlooking guys. I'm pretty sure, if we ask some escorts from real life, they don't always work for goodlooking, sweet rich guys. It would be awesome to read a month where Mia is not falling for the other person and doesn't have hot steamy sex all the time. Then we have the orgasms and the tears. Way too many quick orgasms, way too many quick tears. Even the passing out frequently during or after the sex.. It's just weird to me.
• Alec: He is annoying. He's too dreamy. With the typical French artist, long hair and a beard hippie description. It's just too easy. He lacks personality in my opinion, where Wes did feel like a real person.
• Raging about her sister studying: What really felt dumb to me, was a part in the book where Mia's sister is talking about a course she is following. It has something to do with pathology and Mia is raging about this. She doesn't want her sister to deal with death people. I felt like; WHAT!? You're screwing a different guy every month for money because of your aweful ex-boyfriend almost killed your father and you're raging about your sisters UNIVERSITY CLASS?! Nope.

Characters:

Mia is the main character. A girl who is going to work as an escorte to pay off her fathers debts, one million dollars. She gets the job because of her rich aunt, who doesn't seem to care that much about Mia's personal feelings. Mia is set as a "tough" chick, riding her motorbike. She doesn't seem to believe in true love and has a high libido because of a lack of sex the last year.

Mia is going to work for Wes the first month, January. She is attracted to him right away and he also seems pretty interested in her. Wes hired her because he is not interested in all the women who are after him for his money. Mia is supposed to scare all the girls away.

As you may expect, Wes and Mia like each other much more than they would like to admit.

World-building

Mia is getting to know the world of people who have a few millions to spare. You don't get too much details about the parties, the focus is mainly on Mia and Wes and their interaction. Mia is visiting some of the parties with Wes, but the whole story takes place the most in the bedroom. (as you would expect). The story stays at Wes' house the main part of the book. Expecially the bedroom, hers and his, and the pool.

Story-line

Mia is going to work for Wes the largest part of the book. She is supposed to be there 24 days. The main parts of this book are about the hot and steamy sex Wes and Mia have and some of the parties they attend. After a month, Mia is supposed to go to another client.

Plot-twists

Not much. You wonder if Mia is really going to go to the next client, since she and Wes really like each other and Wes has a million to spare, so he can pay for the debts of her father. But you already know there is a second book, February, so the plot is figured out pretty quick.

So..

A book with a lot of hot steamy sex scenes. I would clasify this book as an erotic book. I truly hope the other books will not be just rip offs of January and actualy suprise me sometimes.
