Synopsis
The enchantment continues....

The universe of the Lunar Chronicles holds stories—and secrets—that are wondrous, vicious, and romantic. How did Cinder first arrive in New Beijing? How did the brooding soldier Wolf transform from young man to killer? When did Princess Winter and the palace guard Jacin realize their destinies?

With nine stories—five of which have never before been published—and an exclusive never-before-seen excerpt from Marissa Meyer’s upcoming novel, Heartless, about the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, Stars Above is essential for fans of the bestselling and beloved Lunar Chronicles.

My thoughts
I would recommend any person that has read the whole Lunar Chronicles series, to read this book after. It was just another peak in the lives of your beloved characters and it was so much fun to "meet" them again, after not seeing them for so long. I finished Winter in January 2018, so it has been 1,5 years and I was SO GLAD to be back once more.

Pros
  • 1 day: I finished this book within a day. 369 pages, in a DAY! That means that the book was hard to put away and I was just reading, reading, reading. I remember having it with me on vacation and not even wanting to go out and explore, because I wanted to read this book.
  • Fun: It was so much FUN to read more about the characters you know, and more about this world. Some stories in this book take place before the actual books and that gives it another layer.
  • Characters: The characters in the Lunar Chronicles are great and I was glad that I got to meet them again. I learned more about their lives before the books and I really felt like I was saying goodbye to them. I'm not sure if I will re-read the series, because there are so many unread books that I want to read still... The books are on my shelves though, and I will NEVER take them off.
  • Ending: The book Winter had a great ending, but this book gives you MORE. The ending was great, amazing, loved it, it was everything I needed!! I had such a big book-hangover, and that is a compliment to the author.

Cons
Insert crickets.

Overall
I would advise to read all the Lunar Chronicles books and then read this one as a final chapter. For fans of the series: I HIGHLY recommend this series. I loved every story in this book and it gives you another layer to the characters. Also; the ending is EVEN BETTER than the ending in Winter.

Other opinions on this book
"Just when the insanely popular Lunar Chronicles looked finished, this piecemeal, but still quite weighty, book will pull readers right back in."

Memorable quotes from this book
"I will accept any amount of monsters my mind wants to give me, but I will not become a monster myself."
