Synopsis
Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.
The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.
Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

My thoughts
OOOOOHHHH GIIIIIRRRRLLLLLLL. Okay, before I get into a huge fangirl review, I just want to tell you that it took me so long to read this, because of the cover. I'm just doing this rant once and then no more. I bought the set with the original covers, they are all read and soft and used and I love it. When I saw this cover I was, to say it in a nice way, DISSAPOINTED. Cover change in the middle of the series and no cover to match my old books... And I'm sorry, but this is an ugly cover as well... So I was sour and angry and decided not to read this book. But yeah, I'm a huge ACOTAR fangirl, so I bought this and read it and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT.

Pros
  • Nesta/Cassian: Maybe one of the reasons I didn't jump into this right away was because it's about Nesta and Cassian. I really didn't think I'd like a book that wasn't about Feyre and Rhysand, but I was SO WRONG. I LOVE Nesta and Cassian. I love the banter, I love the passion. I could've easily read another 700 pages in this book and it would be too short. I also really loved the new additions in characters this book.
  • Story: This story is so much fun! It's not too political, but enough is going on to keep the story going. We get to visit different places, we get to learn about new threats and together with the romance part, this all just blends in so amazingly.
  • Steamy: Oooooh boy. THIS.BOOK. It's hot and steamy and VERY graphical. You gotta like books and scenes like that and I DO LOVE IT. Sarah J. Maas can write some of the best steamy scenes I have ever read. Just give me all the smut, all day, every day.
  • Emotions: This book... It's of such great quality and exactly what I expect from a Sarah J. Maas book. It made me cry and laugh and fangirl so hard. I really had all the feelz. I just love the ACOTAR series so much I could EAT it or DRINK it. I want to re-read and re-read and re-read this. I've not loved a series so much in my life.
  • And now: And now? The speculation wheel is going and going on Insta and Goodreas but I just really need ANOTHER NESTA AND CASSIAN BOOK. But I'm sure anything else will be amazing as well.

Cons
No way, darling.

Overall
I have not had a bookhangover, a really big one, in a while. But when I finished this book?! I just knew nothing I would read in the days coming would be as good. I was just... Empty. Hung-over. I decided to listen to the Graphical Audiobook for ACOTAR and that was SO MUCH FUN. The Audiobook for ACOMAF (my fave in this series) is coming on June 1st and I can't wait to start listening to it. For every person that is scared the books won't live up to the hype: Plz read these books. ESPECIALLY ACOSF!!!!!

Memorable quotes from this book
"She wished she knew how to do such things: to push all the thoughts that devoured her behind some wall, or into a hole within her, so she could bury them deep."

"Your power is a song, and one I've waited a very, very long time to hear, Nesta."

"Everyone deserves happiness. The road there isn't easy. It's long, and hard, and often traveled utterly blind. But you keep going."

Thanks for reading!
I'd love to talk books; please let me know what you think about this book review.
