Synopsis
"Give me Harry Potter," said Voldemort's voice, "and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter, and I shall leave the school untouched. Give me Harry Potter, and you will be rewarded."
As he climbs into the sidecar of Hagrid's motorbike and takes to the skies, leaving Privet Drive for the last time, Harry Potter knows that Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters are not far behind. The protective charm that has kept Harry safe until now is broken, but he cannot keep hiding. The Dark Lord is breathing fear into everything Harry loves, and to stop him Harry will have to find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes. The final battle must begin - Harry must stand and face his enemy...

My thoughts
I am so sad that this is over... I've been postponing this for a very long time; finishing this last book in the HP series. I won't be gone from the HP-world for long, because I plan to read EVERYTHING Harry Potter-world I can get my hands on. I'm also pretty sure that I'll re-read this series.

Pros
  • Best ending series: I think this series has the best ending, of all the series I've ever read. It was satisfying, thrilling and above all so much fun to read. The fact that the Harry Potter series has to end is unacceptable, ofcourse. But if there HAS to be an ending, I like this one a lot.
  • Deaths: This was so hard for me. I didn't remember how this final book ended and I did watch the movie 9 years ago or something. I forgot how many precious characters of mine would die. I was fooling myself all the time that it wasn't true, but it is. Be prepared to lose a lot of characters that you care about if you read this book!
  • Explanation: I LOVE how a lot of things from previous books are explained. It's nice that some bad guys turn out to be better than you were thinking. There were no loose ends for me in this book and I'm very grateful to J.K. Rowling for that.
  • 19 years later: That was so much fun to read! I always wonder, if I finish a series what will become of the characters. Reading an extra chapter that gives more insight is nice and gives this dark book a light ending.
  • Bookhangover: Yup. It was there. Having a bookhangover is just a great compliment to the author... It's also part of being a reader, it reminds you how much of yourself you can lose in a book, my favorite feeling!

Cons
I think that someone used Obliviate on me...

Overall
Sad that this series is over. Happy that I got to read all the books again. Not done with all the books in the Harry Potter world, so you will hear more from me! Definitely a series any Fantasy lover should read or re-read.

Memorable quotes from this book
"Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?"

"He can run faster than Severus Snape confronted with shampoo."

Thanks for reading!
Would you recommend a book from the HP-world?
I'd love to talk books, so let me know what you think about this book/review.
